Biography:
Pranay Purohit serves as Assistant Professor of Economics at Navrachna University in Vadodara while he pursues his PhD at Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU) in Gandhinagar. In his doctoral research he explores the intersection of public finance and energy transition, and he investigates how fiscal policy instruments influence renewable energy adoption and carbon intensity across countries. Drawing from his background in Information Technology engineering he applies a quantitative data-driven approach to macroeconomic research, and he has built strong expertise in panel econometrics distributional methods and multi-criteria decision analysis. His work centres on cross-country empirical analysis with a special focus on India’s fiscal-energy policy landscape.
