These fuels have lower lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions and are suitable for aviation, shipping, and heavy transport. Advanced biofuel technologies require complex conversion processes and advanced catalysts. Continued research and policy support are essential to reduce costs and enable large-scale deployment. Advanced biofuels are critical for deep decarbonization of transport systems.
