Agrivoltaic Systems

Agrivoltaic Systems

Agrivoltaic systems combine agricultural production with solar power generation on the same land. Solar panels are installed above or between crops, allowing simultaneous energy generation and farming. These systems can improve land productivity, reduce water evaporation, and protect crops from extreme weather conditions. Agrivoltaics offer economic benefits to farmers through diversified income streams and improved resilience. Crop selection, panel spacing, and system design are critical to ensure optimal agricultural yield and energy output. Agrivoltaic systems support sustainable land use, food-energy nexus optimization, and renewable energy expansion without competing with agricultural land resources.
