Biofuel Energy

Biofuel Energy

Biofuel energy refers to energy derived from fuels produced from biological feedstocks such as crops, residues, algae, and organic waste. Biofuels are used primarily in transportation, heating, and power generation. Common biofuels include bioethanol, biodiesel, biogas, and biomethane. Biofuel energy reduces dependence on fossil fuels and lowers greenhouse gas emissions when produced sustainably. Biofuels can often be blended with conventional fuels and used in existing engines and infrastructure. Lifecycle sustainability, land use impacts, and feedstock availability are key considerations. Biofuel energy plays an important role in decarbonizing transport and supporting renewable energy diversification.
