Catalysis for a Variety of Feedstocks

Catalysis for a Variety of Feedstocks

Catalysis plays a central role in modern energy and chemical processes by accelerating reactions and improving efficiency. Catalysts enable the conversion of diverse feedstocks, including fossil fuels, biomass, waste materials, and carbon dioxide, into fuels, chemicals, and energy carriers. Heterogeneous, homogeneous, and biocatalysts are widely used in refining, biofuel production, hydrogen generation, and emission control. Advances in catalyst design focus on improving activity, selectivity, durability, and sustainability while reducing reliance on scarce materials. Catalysis supports cleaner energy pathways, higher conversion efficiency, and reduced emissions. It is essential for enabling flexible feedstock use and transitioning toward renewable and circular energy systems.
