Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells

Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells

Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) are a type of thin-film photovoltaic technology inspired by natural photosynthesis. They use a photosensitive dye to absorb sunlight and generate electrons, which are transported through a semiconductor layer. DSSCs offer advantages such as low production cost, flexibility, and good performance under low-light conditions. They can be manufactured using simple processes and lightweight materials. Research focuses on improving efficiency, stability, and large-scale fabrication. DSSCs are suitable for building-integrated photovoltaics, indoor applications, and portable devices. They represent an innovative alternative within solar energy technologies.
