Hydrogen Production Technologies

Hydrogen Production Technologies

Hydrogen production technologies generate hydrogen from various feedstocks and energy sources. Common methods include steam methane reforming, water electrolysis, biomass gasification, and thermochemical cycles. Electrolysis using renewable electricity produces green hydrogen with near-zero emissions. Other pathways, such as blue hydrogen, combine fossil fuels with carbon capture technologies. Emerging biological and photoelectrochemical methods offer sustainable alternatives. Improving efficiency, reducing costs, and scaling production are major research priorities. Hydrogen production technologies are central to energy transition strategies, enabling clean fuel supply for power generation, transportation, and industrial processes.
