Natural Gas

Natural Gas

Natural gas is a widely used fossil fuel for electricity generation, heating, and industrial processes. It produces lower carbon emissions than coal and oil, making it a transitional energy source in decarbonization pathways. Natural gas systems offer high efficiency and flexible power generation, supporting renewable integration. However, methane leakage and long-term climate impacts remain concerns. Technologies such as carbon capture, hydrogen blending, and improved monitoring aim to reduce emissions. Natural gas plays a strategic role in current energy systems while the transition to low-carbon energy continues.
