Tidal stream energy captures kinetic energy from fast-moving tidal currents using underwater turbines. These systems operate similarly to wind turbines but in a marine environment. Engineering challenges include marine durability, maintenance access, and grid integration. Ongoing innovation is improving efficiency and reducing costs.
